Sweden’s ability to attract international students is an important part of its competitiveness and long-term growth and is connected to efforts to address labour market needs. In an increasingly competitive international education landscape, attracting students from around the world requires clear positioning, strong visibility, and coordinated communication efforts across the higher education sector.

Team Sweden International Student Recruitment is made up of professionals from Swedish universities who work with international marketing and student recruitment. The group exists to improve and strengthen the conditions for international student recruitment in Sweden.

Group

The Team Sweden International Student Recruitment group serves as a forum for members to share insights, discuss common challenges, and deepen their knowledge of international marketing and communication. In Swedish, the network is called Nätverk för Internationell Marknadsföring och Kommunikation (NIMK), and brings together Swedish universities to share insights, address common challenges, and strengthens Sweden’s position as a study destination.

The group also maintains close contact with key organisations and authorities connected to international student recruitment and higher education in Sweden. These include the Association of Swedish Higher Education Institutions (SUHF), the Swedish Council for Higher Education (UHR), the Swedish Institute (SI), Swedish Foreign Missions, and the Swedish Migration Agency. Collaboration often takes place through dialogue, network meetings, and knowledge exchange.
