Accelerator Program: Sweden–Hong Kong Smart Ageing

Hong Kong is one of the fastest‑ageing societies in Asia, with a growing share of the population over 65 placing pressure on hospitals, community care, and residential homes. This demographic shift is creating urgent demand for solutions that can support ageing in place, relieve staff shortages, improve safety and quality of life for older people, and increase efficiency in elderly‑care operations.

At the same time, the Hong Kong government and care providers are actively exploring gerontechnology and new care models, which opens a window of opportunity for Swedish companies with proven products and systems.

The Sweden–Hong Kong Smart Ageing Accelerator Program is aimed to facilitate connections between Swedish elderly-care products/solutions providers with key stakeholders in Hong Kong.

Two activities will be included in the Program:

- Physical activity in Sweden:
 A curated pitching and networking session in Sweden where Swedish companies present their elderly‑care products and services directly to an incoming Hong Kong delegation during 29 June - 3 July. 

- Virtual meetings:
To identify and engage 4–5 key local stakeholders, for example elderly home operators, community care organisations, retailers of health products and distributors, to test interest in Swedish solutions.

To increase visibility, the project will also help participating Swedish companies apply for speaking opportunities, panel roles or complimentary exhibition space at leading gerontechnology event in Hong Kong.

This Accelerator Program aims to turn ageing‑related challenges into concrete collaboration and business opportunities for Swedish smart‑ageing solutions.
