For Region Örebro, international cooperation and EU issues is an important part of the regional development mission. By exchanging experiences and collaborating with parties outside the county and the country's borders, the region develops activities in the region. In recent years, a large private service sector has emerged in transport, logistics and warehouse management.

Thanks to its central location in the country, the country's fourth largest cargo airport is located here and Örebro is where the E18 and E20 meet, connecting the city with Oslo, Gothenburg and Stockholm.
Region Örebro County works with international cooperation to ensure that the county's citizens benefit fully from European cooperation. It is also of importance to support an increased internationalization of the county's business sector. The region is partly financing Regional Exportsamverkan run by the business organisation Almi Mälardalen. Region Örebro County also participates in and how the county's Brussels office, Central Sweden, influences EU policy.
