Team Sweden strengthened its cooperation with Lagos State during last week’s delegation visit to Nigeria, led by Diana Janse, State Secretary to the Minister for International Development Cooperation and Foreign Trade.

The delegation met with H.E. Babajide Sanwo-Olu, Executive Governor of Lagos State, for high-level discussions on partnerships, investment, mobility, digitalisation and economic development. The meeting highlighted Lagos State’s priorities in expanding integrated transport systems, advancing trusted networks, and accelerating infrastructure development.

Opportunities for collaboration with Sweden were explored across public transport, digital infrastructure and other innovative solutions. The engagement reflects Lagos State’s continued ambition to partner with international expertise to support the State’s long-term growth.

As part of the Lagos programme, Business Sweden hosted a roundtable with Swedish companies operating in Nigeria, gathering insights on opportunities, business conditions and sector developments across technology, industrial equipment, manufacturing, agriculture and sustainability. Companies highlighted strong market demand and clear ambitions to grow their presence in Nigeria, reinforcing the long‑term potential of Sweden-Nigerian commercial collaboration.
