The delegation programme opened in Ottawa with site visits to Ericsson Open Lab and Area X.O, offering insights into Canadian R&D leadership and next-generation tech testbeds. Delegates also took part in a bilateral meeting between Canada’s Minister of Industry, the Honourable Mélanie Joly, and Sweden’s Minister for Energy, Business and Industry, Ebba Busch.
Sweden Canada Innovation Days delivered its most successful edition to date, gathering 200 participants at the Canada Science and Technology Museum for keynote sessions, sector deep dives and targeted networking.
Several strategic agreements were announced, including collaborations between the Swedish Energy Agency International and OVIN; Ericsson Canada, Saab and Calian Group; and BAE Systems and General Dynamics Land Systems.
The final programme day in Montréal continued to showcase leading innovation, with visits to Concordia University, Bombardier and Mila, Quebec AI Institute. The delegation brought together 30 Swedish companies, the majority SMEs, alongside four Swedish government agencies and nine startups selected by RISE for a targeted matchmaking programme funded by Vinnova.
The strong turnout reflects the depth of Team Sweden collaboration in Canada and the growing interest in long-term industrial and innovation partnerships.
A warm thanks is extended to Canadian partners and hosts for generous hospitality, and to all participating companies and representatives whose engagement made this visit a milestone for Sweden–Canada cooperation.
