The first-ever Swedish Pavilion at IMARC, Australia’s largest and most influential mining event, marked an important milestone for Team Sweden’s joint international promotion efforts.
21 Oct, 2025
Held in Sydney on 21–23 October, the pavilion centred on the theme “Innovating the future of mining”, highlighting Sweden’s solutions in sustainable, automated and electrified mining.
The Team Sweden delegation was led by Diana Janse, State Secretary to the Minister for International Development Cooperation and Foreign Trade, and brought together key actors from Sweden’s mining ecosystem, including Volvo Group, Sandvik, Ericsson, Scania Group and ReVibe Energy.
The conference also welcomed participation from Senator the Hon Anthony Chisholm, Assistant Minister for Resources at Australia’s Department of Industry, Science and Resources.
Throughout IMARC, Team Sweden partners joined forces to showcase Swedish expertise. Together with the Embassy of Sweden in Australia, a high-level networking event brought Swedish and Australian executives, policymakers and industry leaders together to exchange insights and explore new collaboration opportunities.
A dedicated Swedish session featuring case studies, company presentations and perspectives on future mining technologies, underscored the strength of Swedish–Australian cooperation. The session was expertly moderated by Katie Hulmes from BHP and highlighted the shared commitment to innovation, safety and sustainability in the mining sector.
