Nordic tech trailblazers at EXPO 2025 Osaka and SusHi Tech Tokyo

In May, Team Sweden and Nordic partners successfully led a high-level delegation of startups, investors, and innovation ecosystem players to Japan as part of Nordic Innovators @ EXPO 2025 Osaka & SusHi Tech Tokyo. It was a five-day program aimed at accelerating Nordic tech presence in the Japanese market.

The initiative brought together some of the most promising Nordic startups within green tech, smart cities, and digital innovation. Activities included a Nordic Startup and Innovation Showcase at the Nordic Pavilion during EXPO 2025 Osaka, curated pitching sessions, and participation in SusHi Tech Tokyo 2025 – one of Japan’s leading technology events.

Through direct engagement with Japanese stakeholders, the delegation explored new partnerships, investment opportunities, and market entry strategies.

 “Japan and the Nordics share common priorities in sustainability and digitalisation, and this delegation created tangible openings for collaboration.”
